Description

Havering Works is an internal team, grant funded to provide employment support to residents who face barriers to secure and remain in work. The positions within the team are fixed term for the duration of the grant, initially for 2 years with the possibility of a short term extension. The Connect to Work (CtW) programme must deliver to externally assessed quality standards – Individual Placement Support and the Supported Employment Quality Framework. The main purpose of the role is to develop employer relationships to facilitate the employment of individuals participating on Connect to Work and similar programmes.
The postholder will be providing employers with information regarding the intentions of the programme, advice and guidance and education around Individual Placement Support and Supported Employment Quality frameworks and support available to local residents and employers; helping to close the gap of knowledge and understanding of reasonable adjustments and in-work support, including supporting employers review their risk assessment policies and legal obligations.
This includes marketing and promoting the CtW programme to employers and stakeholders across Havering, promoting the benefits of flexible and inclusive recruitment. Supporting employers with their recruitment, job carving and on boarding of participants providing both parties with individual advice and guidance and in-work support once a participant is placed.
Working closely with both the employer and Havering Works Employment Specialists when creating a bespoke placement for a particular resident as part of the job carving process
Regularly liaising with stakeholders such as the DWP and JCP staff in order to support a coordinated response for residents returning to work.
To be responsible for leading on borough wide networking and stakeholder engagement to maintain and develop lasting relationships and greater cohesive integration amongst services and partners.
To promote the employment and skills brokerage service across internal council departments and external organisations e.g. voluntary and community sector, colleges and training providers

Key skills and experience required
Employer & Stakeholder Engagement:-
Skilled at building relationships with employers, clinical teams, JCP, and other partners.
Excellent communication and networking skills with proven experience of delivering presentations to forums, partners and networks both face to face and online.
Able to advocate for IPS and navigate systems to support integration.
Understanding of IPS Principles:-
Commitment to person-centred practice.
Ability to uphold the IPS model and embedding IPS standards while adapting to Connect to Work and the individual borough context.
Resilience & Adaptability:-
Able to manage competing priorities and support colleagues through challenges.
Experience working in complex systems (e.g., health, employment, social care).
Training on fidelity – IPS and SEQF will be available.
