BASE is organising an event for contractors who have been selected for DWP's employment-related support services framework. The event takes place in London on 7 December and aims to raise awareness of the value of contracting with providers of specialist support services.
The event is kindly sponsored by Serco Welfare to Work.
Professor Harrington's review of the work capability assessment (WCA) has been published. Professor Harrington was asked to review the fairness and effectiveness of the WCA following concerns expressed by a number of organisations.
BASE's Midlands network will now be meeting on 15 December with a 10.30am start. The venue is going to be in Shropshire and will be posted on the regional pages. For further information, contact Harry Corrigan on 01536 313051 or Jonathan Allan on 01743 276900.
Maria Miller, in a written answer on 10 September, has stated that equality impact assessments are being developed for both Work Choice implementation and Access to Work and will appear on the DWP website in due course.
