Date:
06/02/24 12:00 to 13:00
Regions:
National

Disabled people currently experience significant labour market disadvantage, as demonstrated by large and enduring disability employment and pay gaps. This session will introduce the Disability Employment Charter (www.disabilityemploymentcharter.org), the aim of which is to persuade government to implement policies focused on addressing this disadvantage.

By the end of the session, participants will have been introduced to the Disability Employment Charter, the research underpinning it, and the steps that have been taken since its launch to influence the policies of both the government and opposition parties.

The session is suitable for participants with an interest in the development and reform of government policies (disability workforce and pay gap reporting, supported employment programmes, Access to Work, Disability Confident etc.) aimed at addressing disabled people’s labour market outcomes.
