Warwickshire County Council
WEST is a county-wide service for adults living in Warwickshire with a learning disability or are on the Autistic Spectrum looking for paid employment or voluntary work. We are a specialist team who enable people to access and sustain employment through our expertise on disability employment and benefit issues, personal profiling and job matching, job coaching and ongoing support to employers and employees. WEST also run specialist job groups at various locations across the county to help prepare customers for work. Topics covered include applying for jobs and CV writing skills, interview preparation and practice, workplace conduct and health and safety. We are also qualified to help customers obtain qualifications in Food Hygiene and First Aid where appropriate.
WEST’s main focus is about getting to know each customer as an individual and tailoring support to their individual needs in order to help them find sustainable employment.
Customers must be referred through a social worker who has assessed them as having a substantial or critical need as defined in the Care Act. If the customer does not have their own social worker, a member of the duty team can provide an assessment. Referrals can only be taken from adults (over 16 years of age) who live in Warwickshire.
