Work Programme charities warn of imminent contract failures

7 out of 10 charity sub-contractors say that their Work Programme contracts are at risk of failure in a new report released by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations.

The report found that 47% of respondents felt that their contacts were at risk of failure within the next six months and 26% thought they were at risk of failure before the end of the contract. The report also found that half of the charities (48%) were subsidising the delivery of the Work Programme from their own reserves.

Funding Central launched for Third Sector


The National Council of Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) & The Office for the Third Sector (OTS) have launched Funding Central (, a new free website for comprehensive information about national, local and regional government funding, national, local or regional charitable funding, and EU funding. Funding Central is for the whole voluntary and community sector, including social enterprises, and will have relevant and up to date information on all funding opportunities aimed at helping voluntary and community organisations easily identify relevant funding streams.
