The Valuing People Now team has developed resources to promote best practice and support local and regional delivery so that more people with learning disabilities get homes and jobs and lead fulfilled lives.

Paul Burstow, Minister of State at the Department of Health has made a ministerial statement about learning disabilities.

The Government has published its response today to Raising our sights: services for adults with profound intellectual and multiple disabilities', by Professor Jim Mansell (March 2010).

The Department of Health has published a series of six guides on the transformation of community services. The guides are for use by frontline clinicians, commissioners and providers. They relate to health and well being; children, young people and families; acute care closer to home; long-term conditions; rehabilitation and end of life care.

The cross-Government Mental Health Outcomes Strategy was launched today. The No health without mental health strategy outlines how a new emphasis on early intervention and prevention will help tackle the underlying causes of mental ill-health.

The National Mental Health Delivery Unit (part of the Department of Health) are developing a website to promote good practice in supporting people with mental health problems into work. They are looking for information on

Community Care is reporting that the National Mental Health Development Unit is to close at the end of March.

This publication, funded by the Department of Health, brings together information from a variety of sources to estimate the most up-to-date nationally-applicable unit costs for a wide range of health and social care services in England.
