Personal Budgets and Supported Employment (Coventry)
Venue: The Pod, 1a Lamb Street, Coventry CV1 4AE
Cost: £50+vat (members), £80+vat (non-members)
This will be the final workshop for providers and it has been arranged following previously sold-out workshops in London and Leeds.
This event is aimed at supported employment providers and aims to explore some of the issues around using personal budgets to fund specialist employment support. The Liz Sayce report has recommended that funding be switched away from funding specialist programmes and facilities and instead be allocated to individuals through personal budgets. Many local authorities are accelerating plans to fund service provision through personal budgets but there is no consistent approach to this.
The day will explore some of the issues facing providers as they gear up to the new market. These include the variety of options for managing personal budgets, the offer to customers, pricing issues and the administrative tasks associated with managing personal budgets.
The venue is a 10-15 minute walk from Coventry Railway Station. There is very limted car parking at the venue but parking is available at the nearby Wickes store and at a car park on Bond Street.
There is a limit of 30 places available. A buffet lunch will be provided.
