Within the Work Programme and Work Choice programme, specialist providers from the public, private and voluntary sectors are being paid for the results they achieve in getting people back into work, and have more freedom than ever before in how they design and deliver their services. But, these programmes can only succeed if providers understand employers’ needs and can help to meet them. In return, they offer a largely untapped resource for employer recruitment.
Employers demonstrate that they want to support the efforts to get Britain working. They articulate what they need consistently and yet still the employer demand side and the provider supply side are not responding in as coordinated a fashion as they must to enable economic growth.
This event will get to the heart of how successful partnerships between providers and employers work, and how ideas from these could be replicated and scaled up.
The Rt Hon. Chris Grayling MP will open the event which is supported by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, the Confederation of British Industry, the British Chambers of Commerce and the Chartered Institute for Personnel Development. Employers supporting the event include: Transport for London, Morrisons, Holland & Barrett, Aegis, Horizon Finance and First Bus.
