Beyond Words seeks help to trial books

Beyond Words is developing four new picture books to help people with learning disabilities and autism access work.

  • Going to work: Aimed at older people, perhaps looking to enter work for the first time

  • Moving On: Aimed at young people, and the transition between school and work

  • Trying It Out: Looks at trying out the workplace and aspects of volunteering

  • Enjoying work: Focused on what is good about work and helping people stay in employment

They are looking for groups in adult education, supported employment, schools and other settings to help them ‘trial’ the new books, from June-August 2017.
You would:

  • read the draft picture story in a group
  • offer feedback on what does and doesn’t work
