Nottinghamshire consults on supported business provision

Nottinghamshire County Council is to consult on changes to some of its subsidised trading services which provide supported employment for disabled people. Councillors will debate the proposals at Full Council on 22nd September.

BASE to support Warwickshire employer engagement

BASE has been commissioned to support Warwickshire's supported employment team (WEST) to engage with employers as part of an ESF-funded project. BASE will assist in engaging over 100 employers, both individually and through a range of business forums. We aim to help improve employment rates for people with learning disabilities by raising awareness of innovative and flexible recruitment practices.

The Coventry and Warwickshire Employer of Choice awards

The Coventry and Warwickshire Employer of Choice Awards have now become a regular calendar event for employers across the west midlands and is becoming a major award to publicly recognise organisations that are developing good employment practices and to celebrate employers' achievements in the development of work life balance and health and wellbeing. The initiative is presented jointly by Coventry and Warwickshire County Councils to host.

NW and Midlands network meetings postponed

Please note that tomorrow's north west regional network meeting at Winsford has been postponed due to the poor weather. The Midlands network meeting scheduled for 15 December in Shropshire has also been postponed. New dates are being arranged for the New Year.
