The Canadian Government has published a report that identifies best employment practices and records the success stories of people with disabilities. Rethinking disAbility in the Private Sector is the report of the Panel on Labour Market Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities that was formed earlier this year.
The panel was created to research on people with disabilities in the workplace to:
- Focus on the best practices to giving people with disabilities employment opportunities
- Explain how both individuals and businesses benefit from hiring people with disabilities
- Identify barriers to employment in the workplace
- Gather private-sector success stories
- Highlight the need for business leadership and effective community partnerships in hiring these individuals
