Base Awards 2010
Base Awards 2010
BASE is proud to announce the winners of its inaugural Practitioner of the Year Awards. The awards recognise and celebrate outstanding practice in the field of supported employment in the UK and reflect the personal achievement, innovation and commitment of individuals in supporting sustainable employment. The focus of the awards is on promoting the remarkable work that goes on across the country to help people with disabilities get the support they need to achieve their work aspirations and retain paid employment.
Individual awards were made to supported employment personnel working in the fields of learning disability and mental health. Unfortunately, no award was made this year for support to people with a sensory impairment. We also awarded the individual judged to have demonstrated outstanding practice in supporting employers. The awards were presented at our conference dinner at the Brighton Holiday Inn on 8 September. Each winner received an award and a cheque for £400.
We are grateful to our sponsors, the Valuing People Now team and the Centre for Mental Health, for supporting these awards. Our warm congratulations go to all the winners.
