Vocational Services
The Vocational Service provides support and practical help to service users whose aim is to find find full or part time work. Employment Specialists offer one to one support to clarify employment goals using an ‘Individual Placement and Support’ (IPS) model. The service is tailored to individual needs and any difficulties related to finding work are addressed.
The Vocational Team offers support with the following:
• Confidence Building;
• Benefits Advice;
• Job Searching;
• Writing CVs;
• Making Applications;
• Contacting Employers;
• Work Trials;
• Support with Interviews;
• Apprenticeships;
• Support after starting a job;
• Finding training opportunities.
We can help by giving advice regarding what to say about health problems to employers and making people aware of their rights if they choose to disclose details of a health problem.
Employment Specialists are based in all the Community Mental Health Teams in Bedfordshire, North East Essex, Mid Essex, South Essex and Luton.
The Forensic Vocational Service supports people to regain skills and experience in trade skills such as carpentry, bricklaying, horticulture and retail.
