Forwards Employment Support Service
The FORWARDS Employment Support Service ensures that people with disabilities who want to work, receive appropriate support, guidance and the opportunity to access sustainable jobs for real wages.
To have support from the Forwards team, an individual ‘MUST’ have an interest in finding paid work, live in Middlesbrough, be aged between 16 and 65 and be known to Social Care. If, you are not sure if you meet the criteria, please give us a call.
The Job Coaches role will be to:
* Work with you, your family, carers and caseworkers to help you get into paid employment
* Look for the right job based on your interests, skills, training and aspirations
* Help you access welfare benefits information and have a better off calculation
* Meet regularly with you and update your family, carers and caseworkers
* Help you to complete a CV, application forms
* Help you to prepare for interviews and attend interviews with you if you wish
* Help you to apply for funding for transport to work, clothing, equipment and a support worker if needed
* Negotiate with employers – making sure the working environment is suitable and put support in place and reasonable adjustments are made
* Provide you continued support and assist with personal development whilst in employment
