Forth Sector

Forth Sector is one of Scotland’s leading social enterprises. We provide employment support to people with lived experience of mental illness and those who experience multiple disadvantages who wish to return to work.

The Employability Service team provides support to each individual client to develop their skills and experiences in order to gain employment. This is achieved by one to one meetings with a named case manager, therapeutic interventions (if appropriate), training groups, workshops and employability courses. We have developed a range of pre employment training courses to support clients to overcome barriers to employment and to develop strategies which will support job retention.

We can offer unpaid work experience placements within our social firms and in main stream businesses if it is felt that these experiences will support and enhance a client’s job search opportunities. We can provide placements within : Parkview Laundry Service, St Judes Laundry Service, Edinburgh Embroidery Services, The Scottish Soap Works (productions), within our central administration team and externally we can offer retail experiences in a variety of settings, office administrative opportunities and care opportunities. The Employability Service staff team works closely with the Business Managers in the social firms and in the external work placements to support the clients to develop work skills and experiences in a real working environment.

Forth Sector works closely with other organisations and Adult Education colleges to provide access to a wide range of services and supports to enable the individual client to achieve their goal.
