Evenbreak
Evenbreak is a not-for-profit specialist job board for disabled job seekers. It is the only such site run by disabled people for disabled people in the UK. It came about because inclusive employers (those who understand the benefits of employing disabled people) were saying they found it difficult to attract disabled candidates through their usual recruitment channels. Meanwhile, disabled job seekers were telling us that it is difficult to find inclusive employers who were enlightened enough to look past their disabilities at what they have to offer.
Evenbreak brings these two groups of people together. Employers are confident that they can attract additional disabled candidates to add to their talent pool. Disabled candidates can be confident that the kind of employers who advertise on such a site are likely to be genuinely looking to attract disabled candidates.
There is no charge for disabled candidates to register, upload their CV and search for jobs. It’s worth encouraging candidates to register because some employers will search the database for specific skills. Also registered candidates receive a regular e-bulletin reminding them of current jobs on the site. There is no guarantee of a job, of course, but candidates are likely to find the employers on Evenbreak more receptive to employing disabled people, so it can be a useful additional route to finding work.
The employers who advertise on Evenbreak are very diverse and include charities, public sector bodies and others such as the BBC, Zurich Finance, Yorkshire Water, Network Rail, the Royal Shakespeare Company and many more.
