Adult Learning & Skills Service
Formerly known as Workable Solutions, the Adult Learning & Skills Supported Employment Service is provided by Durham County Council. Our purpose is to support people to achieve or maintain employment - full or part-time.
We offer support, advice and guidance to people with disabilities to find new employment. We support people to keep the job they already have if they are experiencing difficulties at work.
We can support County Durham residents, aged 16 years and over, who have a disability or health condition.
We give information, advice and guidance and make this easy to understand. We work with other organisations so you can access a wider range of services. All of our staff are qualified which helps us to deliver a good service.
What we can offer you:
We aim to help you achieve what you want and we will work with you to develop a personal action plan. Included in your action plan may be:
* Basic Skills Assessment
* Pre-employment training
* Short vocational courses
* Welfare benefits advice
* Work placements and work trials
* Preparing a CV
* job searching
* Interview preparation and support
* Access to work
* One to one support in the workplace.
We have a successful history of supporting disabled people into and retaining employment.
